I’m a literature nerd and a sociology wonk. My brain was trained in these fields at the College of William & Mary in Virginia. I received a B.A. in English in 1997. I got my start working for local and statewide non-profit organizations as a coordinator of various things, including education, public awareness and volunteers. After eight years, several major social marketing campaigns, and about a zillion newsletters, I shifted my focus to freelance copywriting and journalism. I’ve written for numerous companies, publications, and non-profit organizations. I relocated to Seattle in 2005. I’ve also worked as a staff writer for an internet company, a bookseller, a sales rep, a waitress, and a self-taught graphic designer. I blog regularly, most often about my interests in natural health, crafty recycling, and vegan cooking. My partner Ben Haley is a talented photographer. |
